Al Coates, MBE CF joins us for our workshop NVR in Practice: Adoption & Fostering

Al is an experienced social worker, Nonviolent Resistance practitioner, trainer and podcaster, as well as a parent through fostering and adoption to six children. His work combines professional expertise with lived experience supporting families facing complex behavioural challenges.

He has co-authored several influential publications including: Policing Challenging, Violent or Aggressive Behaviour: Responding to Families(Northumbria Police Report, 2020) and Let’s Talk About Child to Parent Violence.

Through his work, Al supports carers and parents of children displaying challenging behaviour and trains professionals in understanding and responding to complex family dynamics.

In addition to our guest speakers, all workshops will be facilitated by two accredited NVR Practitioners, Trainers, and Supervisors, creating space for active discussion and participant engagement.
